Amy & Lee’s Beautiful Hollin House Wedding

Hollin House Wedding

Amy and Lee met 10 years ago, though it wasn’t quite love at first sight: “he grew on me” explained Amy, “…like a fungus!” This playful approach to their relationship was clear to see in their family life – they now have 2 gorgeous children, Ella (5) and Annie (18 months) – and the love they all have for each other shone throughout the wedding.

But who’s wedding was this really? It was Ella’s. Ella had a dream. A fairy tale dream of a wedding filled with sparkles, tulle, a horse drawn carriage, and lots and lots of pink! With a little help from mummy and Meemaw, her dream became a stunning reality.

Deep pink Hydrangeas were the flowers that took central stage. These were cut from Amy’s mum’s garden, where a glorious bush bloomed brightly. This bush grew from a pot given by Amy’s mum to her grandma 40 years ago, allowing her to be present during the day as well. The bridal bouquet featured peonies (my favourites) and the flower girl and bridesmaid’s dresses were delicate shades of pink as well.

Over with the groom, getting ready was a chilled out affair with a cup of tea, a few pictures of Lee and many pictures of the Pageboy, Jenson. Of course, sparkles also featured. Sometimes, only a woman is right for the job… cue Lisa, Lee’s sister and Best Woman who wore the most stunning gold sequin dress. (For the evening do, the flower girls and page boy had an outfit change and also donned gold sequins…it was glittertastic!)

Once the bridal party had been treated to a Hollywood style pamper session in a magnificent customised beauty van, they dodged the heavy rain showers and took their seats in the horse drawn carriage and Rolls Royce. The sun even came out making the raindrops sparkle like diamonds – Ella’s influence again?!

An intimate service followed at St James Church, Sutton where Ella and Annie’s mummy and daddy become Mr and Mrs Henshaw. There was a choir and a harpist, who played (wait for it…) “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen! Ella, you did it again – high five!

Then it was off to Hollin House Hotel for their wedding reception, a grand country house in Kerridge. Guests were nourished with grenadine cocktails and chocolate dipped strawberries on arrival and then were treated to the most delicious meal in the sun drenched and newly refurbished Hollin Suite. (We know how delicious the food was because we enjoyed the feast too while we had some down time!)

Hollin House Wedding Venue

After 3 touching and at times tear-jerking speeches, the Hollin House wedding staff set about transforming the room ready for the evening party. Andy and I took the opportunity to go for a walk with Lee and Amy in the pretty grounds and capture them reflecting with each other about the day so far. Meanwhile, the guests had the chance to get their makeup touched up or have a new hairdo for the evening as the Hollywood GlamVan was parked up at Hollin House! I’m pretty sure I saw the same person go at least three times during the day – no names!

After a beautiful, family first dance, the evening involved a funky band who Annie especially loved, a sweet cart, a magic mirror photo booth (so much fun!) and lots of dancing.

Thank you to Amy and Lee for having us at your Hollin House wedding, we had such a good time with you guys. Congratulations again and enjoy the summer as a married couple!
